A boy and his dog who rests on his back while he does his math in mom’s big bed.
Pictures might be mediocre but the moment was pure sweetness.

I like cute clothes and I like to be warm and cozy in the blustery cold weather during our Michigan fall/winter seasons. I’m pretty sure my dogs feel the chill too and I want to keep them comfortable. Emma has a short coat and Remy has a lot of hair but it’s mostly fluff – he doesn’t have the benefit of an undercoat to keep him warm. I’ve been looking for sweaters and jackets for my pups. I’ve also got my eye out for a good pair of shoes as well. I know shoes sound kind of silly but many people put ice on their sidewalks that is harmful to dogs. I’ll blog more about that topic in November because there are pet friendly ways to treat the ice on sidewalks and it’s just a good way to be neighborly.
This week I was looking for a good dog sweater and I came across one I’d really like to buy but it is pricey and I can’t just splurge on a couple of those without a little planning. While hunting around for the perfect sweater I found a cute dog hoodie for a fantastic price at Lands End.
The Lands End Pet Hoodie is on sale for $11.99 and is available in a wide variety of sizes. You can order one here. To sweeten the deal, Lands End is offering 30% off ALL regularly priced items plus FREE SHIPPING on orders of $50 or more through midnight 10/24. I love Lands End!

I’m looking forward to trying out Emma and Remy’s new hoodies this week. I’ll be sure to blog about how they work out. In reading through the online reviews I think these will work out great. Some reviewers make the point that the hoodies would be easier to get on and off if they had velcro closure as opposed to being an over-the-head style. I’m hopeful that won’t be an issue with my dogs and that the belly coverage will be a benefit.

I’m testing out uploading a video from my phone. Today we took Emma & Remy to the beach. Much fun was had by all humans & canines.

Gabriel is sad today. He is remembering our cat, Buddy, who left our family about a year ago.
Gabey is such a tender little boy, with such a soft spot for animals. It always makes him sad when he thinks about our pets that are gone.
He came in from playing to color a picture in rememberance of his favorite cat. He had a good cry, we had a good snuggle and drawing a picture seemed to help him.
The hardest part of being a pet owner is saying goodbye.

There are many benefits to homeschooling for both us and our boys – even our pets benefit. One of the perks we bring up on days when the boys are less than agreeable is that you can take your dog to school with you every day – and your favorite blanket too!

It’s kind of a big deal to be connected to someone famous. We are.
You know how distant cousins and friends-of-friends-of-friends and neighbors from back in the day come crawling out of the woodwork to connect to newly famous people? Yeah, well… we’re not like that.
We loved our famous cousin before he was famous.
In fact, even though I had been curious about the goldendoodle breed, we probably wouldn’t have a goldendoodle today if it weren’t for our famous cousin.
I’ve even blogged about our newly famous cousin here and here before he hit the big leagues. Yup, that’s right… we are not those creepy cousins trying to ride the coat-tails of our now famous cousin. We are just celebrating his fame because WE LOVE HIM!
Kelham, our cousin and our hero, won the FidoJournalism 2011 Unconditional Love Contest! You can read more here. We are super, super excited for our fluffy friend. His mommy, my cousin KVP, calls him a menace but loves him unconditionally. He is quite a stinker but he makes us laugh. You should check out his blog and all of his antics. We are quite excited for Kelham to have his photo shoot – it’s going to be amazing. When Kelham’s pictures are published he is going to be fending of the paparazzi on his daily walks. Everyone is going to want a piece of him and we’ll be happy as clams knowing we were already in his inner circle.
Congrats, Kelham. Tell your Mommy we want one of your pictures!
